Dr. Georgios Mitsiakos
I studied Medicine in the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. I graduated from Medical School, received the title of Paediatrician and that of Neonatologist. I completed my PhD and in 2012 I became Lecturer in Neonatology in the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. I have participated in many scientific conferences, and in dozens of research articles published in international and national peer-reviewed journals, as well in chapters of medical books. Moreover, I am reviewer to peer-reviewed journals. I have been member of many medical societies and scientific boards. In present, I am Associate Professor in Neonatology and President of the Hellenic Neonatal Society. My research interests focus on neonatal infections and haematological disturbances of the neonate, with an emphasis on bleeding, thrombocytopenia, coagulation and haemostasis. In addition, the research takes into consideration the neonatal morbidity and mortality.
