Prof. Sandra Davidge

Professor Sandra Davidge, PhD, FCAHS is the Executive Director of the Women and Children’s Health Research Institute and Distinguished University Professor at the University of Alberta, Edmonton Canada and a Fellow in the Canadian Academy of Health Science. Dr. Davidge serves on many national and international grant panels and is currently on the editorial board for the Hypertension, American Journal of Physiology and Biology of Sex Differences as well as being the Board Chair for the national Maternal, Infant, Child, Youth Research Network. Dr. Davidge’s research program encompasses studying cardiovascular function as it relates to 1) complications in pregnancy (preeclampsia and maternal aging) and 2) developmental origins of adult cardiovascular disease. With her team of trainees, for whom she has mentored >40 national and international graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, Dr. Davidge has published over 250 original peer-reviewed manuscripts and review articles in these areas.

				Dr. Panagiotis G. Anagnostis			
		

		

				
			Dr. Panagiotis G. Anagnostis has completed his basic medical training (MD) (2002) and received his PhD (on “Prevalence and management of osteoporosis in haemophilic patients”) from the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece (2013). For this work he has been awarded the prestigious grant of “Distinction” from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He was also awarded a MSc degree from the Open University of Cyprus (in “Health Services Policy”) (2016). He has acquired the specialty of “Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism” at the Department of Endocrinology and Diabetes of Hippokration Hospital of Thessaloniki, Greece) (2012).
Having had a scholarship from the European Society of Endocrinology and the Endocrine Society of the USA (International Endocrine Scholarship Program, 2013), he completed his post-doctoral training as a Clinical Research Fellow (Honorary Specialist Registrar) at the Department of Endocrinology and Diabetes, St. Mary’s Hospital, Imperial College of London, UK (2014). During his post-doctoral training, except for his academic research activity on “dyslipidaemias in postmenopausal women”, he had also the opportunity to attend and participate in specialized menopause clinics in London (UK) at the Department of Gynaecology, West London Menopause and Premenstrual Syndrome Centre (Queen Charlotte and Chelsea & Westminster Hospitals).
He has also received a postgraduate award for Distinguished Research Activity (2010, Medical School, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki) and a grant from the Hellenic Atherosclerosis society for his post-doctoral training abroad (2014). He is also a fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health (FRSPH) since 30^th of May 2018.
He has also been awarded the 2021 Jens Sandahl Christansen Award, by the European Society of Endocrinology, for clinical science, which is presented to an endocrinologist for a specific piece of research or project on metabolism in general (contributing to our understanding of metabolism), nominated by the European Menopause and Andropause Society (EMAS) for his work on “Cardiovascular Disease – menopause”.
He works currently as a Consultant in Endocrinology at the Police Medical Centre, Thessaloniki, Greece. He is also currently a clinical research fellow in Endocrinology at the Unitof Reproductive Endocrinology, First Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and at the Third Academic Orthopaedic Unit of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, in “Papageorgiou” General Hospital. He is also a member of the Centre of Orthopaedic and Regenerative Medicine Research (CORE), at the Center for Interdisciplinary Research and Innovation (CIRI) of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. His main research aspiration is in the field of menopause and metabolic bone diseases.
He actively participates in the teaching program of the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, being a tutor of the “Research Methodology” lesson, a post-graduate course of the “Applied Nutrition and Health Promotion” MSc program, as well as for the postgraduate course “Research in female reproduction” of the Medical School of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
 
		


				

				            
		
	




	

				

				            
				Dr. Angela Maas			
		

		

				
			Angela Maas, MD, PhD is a clinical cardiologist since more than 30 years and has developed a main interest in heart disease in women over the past decades. She followed training programs in de VS and Canada and established the first outpatient clinic for women in the Netherlands in 2003. Since 2012 she holds a chair in Cardiology for women at the Radboud University Medical Center in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. She focuses on the early identification of women at increased CV risk and symptom evaluation in women at middle-age. She has initiated several multicenter collaborative projects with other disciplines (gynecologists, oncologists, vascular imaging, epidemiologists, primary care, etc) to improve healthy ageing in women. She has received many awards such as by the Dutch Society of female physicians (2010), the Radboud University (2014) and was knighted by the King in 2017. She is currently one of the most influential female doctors in Dutch healthcare and is the 2020/21 Women’s representative of the Dutch Government to the United Nations.
 
		


				

				            
		
	




	

				

				            
				Prof John C Stevenson			
		

		

				
			Prof John Stevenson is Reader in Metabolic Medicine in the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London, Visiting Professor at the Belgrade School of Medicine, and Consultant Physician at the Royal Brompton Hospital, London, where he jointly runs the UK’s first female heart disease clinic. His research has included studies of metabolic risk factors for coronary heart disease and the effects of sex hormone deficiency and replacement, and metabolic bone diseases, particularly the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of osteoporosis. He lectures extensively throughout the world, and has over 450 publications in journals and books, including 12 textbooks. He is Chairman of the charity Women’s Health Concern, Trustee of the British Menopause Society, Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology, Foundation Member of the Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine (UK) and Executive Committee Member of the International Society of Gynecological Endocrinology.  He is a past Chairman of the British Menopause Society, past Executive Committee Member of the International Menopause Society and of the European Menopause and Andropause Society, and past Editor of Maturitas.

Led and organized the IMS-CAMS study for Ecuador.
As a past board member of IMS I supported the Spanish version of Menopause Live which is weekly sent out to all IMS members. As secretary of CAMS I have supported, promoted and enhanced IMS’s international aims. My election as Treasurer of CAMS will seek at continuing these initiatives and others to come, aimed at the members of CAMS, in addition at help coordinating and supporting IMS scientific tasks.
My close links with key colleagues in other countries, particularly in Latin America, would certainly continue to enhance the role of CAMS in our region. This will help IMS and its members to appreciate the particular needs and clinical issues of women from Latin America. If elected as Treasurer of CAMS I will continue to support the mission of IMS with focus on research and education in developing countries. Dimitrios G. Goulis

Professor in Reproductive Endocrinology

Professor Dimitrios G. Goulis completed his medical training (MD) and received his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Having a scholarship from the European Union, he worked as clinical research fellow at St. Mary’s Hospital (Imperial College), London, acquiring the specialty of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. He is currently professor of Reproductive Endocrinology in the 1^st Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Aristotle University, Greece. He has published more than 300 full papers in peer-review international journals and has been an invited speaker in more than 400 international and congresses. His main research interests include Andrology, endocrine complications of pregnancy, polycystic ovary syndrome, menopausal transition, and research methodology.

Dr. Angelica Lindén Hirschberg is Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Department of Women’s and Children’s Health, Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, Sweden. She is Head of the Women´s Health Research Unit and a Consultant Gynecologist in charge of Gynecological Endocrinology at the Karolinska University Hospital, Stockholm, Sweden. Her research is focused on interaction between sex steroids and metabolism of importance for female reproduction and health. Professor Hirschberg is a fellow of the Endocrine Society, board member of The International Society of Gynecological Endocrinology (ISGE) and the European Menopause and Andropause Society (EMAS), the official gynecologist of the Swedish Olympic Teams, medical advisor to World Athletics (IAAF) and the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
 



 
		


				

				            
		
	




	

				

				            
				Prof. Antonio Cano			
		

		

				
			Antonio Cano is full Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Valencia, Spain, and Head of the Obstet Gynecol Department at the Clinico University Hospital-INCLIVA in Valencia. Graduated at the University of Valencia, doctorate as scholar at the Royal Spanish College in the University of Bologna, and postdoctoral fellow of British Council in the Imperial Cancer Research Fund in London, UK. He has authored several books and around three hundred articles written in English or Spanish, many of them in the field of menopause and women’s health. Member of the Board in three scientific journals, Maturitas, Gynecologic and Obstetric Investigation, and Pregnancy Hypertension, and editor for Gynecology of the European Journal of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Biology. Coordinator in the A3 group (frailty and functional decline) of the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing (EIP on AHA) and coordinator of the European project FOCUS (Frailty management Optimisation though EIP AHA Commitments and Utilisation of Stakeholders input). 				Prof. Irene Lambrinoudaki			
		

		

				
			


Dr Lambrinoudaki was born in Athens and graduated from Athens University Medical School. She conducted her Doctoral Thesis in Ruprecht Karls University in Heidelberg, Germany on the Epidemiology of osteoporosis in association with endogenous sex hormones. She was trained in Clinical Endocrinology in the Department of Pathophysiology, Athens University Medical School and in the Departments of Endocrinology and Metabolism, in Ruprecht Karls University, Heidelberg, Germany, in Nikaia General District Hospital, Piraeus, Greece and in Queen Mary Hospital, University of Hong Kong. Currently she is Professor of Endocrinology in the 2nd Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Medical School, University of Athens, Greece. She has been responsible for educational, clinical and research activities in her Department since 2000. She has authored 216 publications (March 2020) in peer-reviewed international journals, mainly on gynecological endocrinology, menopause, hormone therapy and osteoporosis. She is President of the Hellenic Society of Climacterium and Menopause, Past President of the European Menopause and Andropause Society (EMAS, 2015-2017), Scientific Director of EMAS (2017-today) and Editor in Chief of the journal MATURITAS, official journal of EMAS. She is the recipient of the 2018 Henry Burger Prize which is awarded by the International Menopause Society to the Scientist with the most significant contributions in the field of menopause in the previous five years of a World Congress.



		


				

				            
		
	




	

				

				            
				Prof. Margaret Rees			
		

		

				
			Margaret Rees has an international reputation of leadership in women’s midlife health and is the Executive Director of the European Menopause and Andropause Society.  A gynaecologist, she is Editor in Chief of Case Reports in Women’s Health and Emeritus Editor of Maturitas.  Her expertise has been recognized nationally and internationally, by appointments to a Readership in Reproductive Medicine at Oxford University; and visiting Professorships at Glasgow University and at the Karolinska Institute in Sweden and the University of Turku in Finland, and an Adjunct Associate Professorship at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, New Jersey.
